Nonduality teachings tell us that it is better to know that you’re divided than to pretend that you’re in unity. That’s why we say ‘not two’ instead of ‘one’.

I am working on a series on Nonduality and Native Wisdom. Some of the things I'm talking about aren't going to make sense by themselves, because the series builds on ideas and intertwines them until they make sense. The entire progression is in my new book: Nonduality and Native Wisdom. It's available now on Amazon in Kindle and paperback formats.
The bottom line about Native spirituality is that those of us who are not native need to first give to native communities before we take. Especially before we unconsciously take what we perceive to be their spirituality. The thing that we need to give is the thing that we are most reluctant to give: time. I'm not talking a few hours here. It's important to understand that conquering cultures gave generational trauma to our native brothers and sisters. It's going to take
generations for them to recover and become whole again.
That means that we need to give them generations of time. So much time that none of us will personally benefit from it. We have to wait; back down and give space. Enjoy what is being offered in terms of books and videos. But other than that, back off and wait, longer than our lifetimes. In other words... we never personally get anything.
I said it was going to be the one thing we don't want to give... right?
We also need to do other thing that we don't want to do... and that is the tremendous hard work of awakening ourselves so that we can repair our society and give the earth itself the space she needs to heal. I'm talking super hard, grueling work here. The kind of effort and sacrifice that we don't want to make. So that's the bad news.
The good news is that awakening is possible for everyone, and good hard work feels so good when it's done! And besides, hopefully we'll be doing it together and it will also include lots of good music, dancing and great food. So let's get cracking!
Nonduality teachings tell us that it is better to know that you’re divided than to pretend that you’re in unity. That’s why we say ‘not two’ instead of ‘one’.
When you know who you are, it’s the end of excuses… because who you are is simply nothingness and everythingness. When you know who you are, it’s not constantly changing. The ‘you’ that made a decision when you were two years old is still the same ‘you’ sitting here, reading this and making a decision …
I know it seems sometimes like I’m just talking in circles, but that is the nature of concepts themselves because they’re so limited in telling us who we are. The world needs you awake, needs all of us awake, particularly in this time when we need to build from awareness.
This is a series of videos on integrating non-duality with Native teachings. And I’d like to stop for a minute and talk about appropriating other cultures – appropriating native cultures. If you’ve been following what I’ve been saying, this will probably start making some sense to you. If it doesn’t make any sense at all, …
Native wisdom tells a different story of who we are as human beings. It’s a story of unity. Nonduality gives us the tool, then, to see ourselves clearly within the stories that we’ve been told. The stories that have contributed to our perceived separation. We can go down to a place of zero so we can be who is seeing.
I’m doing a series of videos on how nonduality and Native spirituality intersect. We’ve talked about history, we’ve talked about language, and how it fits in our head. We’ve talked aboutthe rules of nonduality and how they work in with that. At this point in the discussion, people might start thinking, ‘Well, why don’t we …
