This is a critical piece of information to understand. Don’t say Brahmin if you don’t know Brahman.
This is really important in non-duality studies. In non-duality, we are trying to get into the actual essence of reality. The actual you that is you — the place where your total wisdom abides.
It’s a place beyond words. It’s beyond definition.
So if you
think you can define what Brahman is without actually being there, without actually knowing this essence yourself, then you are infinitely stuck in a loop of thought. You’re gonna cause problems, not only for yourself, but for everyone else.
This happens all the time in spiritual circles. People incessantly throw out definitions for things that, by their very definition, are not supposed to have definitions.
Sanskrit was created a long time ago with a
specific purpose. It’s a language that enlightened people can use to describe things.
When an enlightened person says “Brahman” there’s a very specific thing they mean by that.
When an un-enlightened person says Brahman, they are saying some sort of limited description that they have heard about Brahman. They’re not saying their own experience of Brahman because they don’t have an actual experience of unity.
So don’t try to interpret
Sanskrit if you don’t know.
That is a language for enlightened people. The words have no set definitions that can be translated into English. It’s a language of simple sounds because the sounds can help people wake up.
The instant a person who doesn’t know Brahman tries to speak of Brahman, or even say the word Brahman, they literally ruin the whole thing — the whole purpose of it.
So if you’re talking about all this non-duality stuff, and
you don’t actually know, don’t pretend that you know.
That’s truly the essence what I’m trying to say.
The whole problem with un-enlightenment is that it is a state of pretending. If you’re pretending to be enlightened or to understand enlightenment, boom — you’ve blown the whole thing up. You’re gonna loop around and around and around.
Brahman —
You can touch it and see it and find it, but you can’t describe
it.
When you’re there, then let’s have a talk about it.
